President of the United States Declares National Energy Emergency
Trump is making sure there is value for the shareholders. President Donald Trump kicked off his first day in office by declaring an energy emergency and pledging to expedite permitting for major oil and gas projects. At his inaugural address, he reiterated that the US holds the largest oil and gas reserves and intends to tap them to become a "rich nation again.". According to White House officials, Alaska will be reopened for extraction after drilling was limited by the Biden administration. Other changes include ending leases for wind farms and Paris Climate Accord withdrawal.

US is already at record production levels.
About 24% of US oil is produced on federal lands, with the rest from private holdings.

LVMH Wins Back Europe's Most Valuable Company Title
Move over, Ozempic—there's a new heavyweight in Europe's corporate ring. LVMH ($MC) reclaimed its crown as the continent's most valuable company, nudging Novo Nordisk ($NOVO) off the throne after a luxury sector rebound clashed with pharma woes. Bernard Arnault, LVMH's CEO, pocketed a $12 billion net worth increase this year. However, he is still trailing Oracle's ($ORCL) co-founder Larry Ellison in the billionaire rankings, who has a net worth of $188 billion. LVMH profits from Novo Nordisk's 5% share price decline on Friday, after Joe Biden announced that semaglutide, the company's weight loss drug, would be subject to cost agreements with Medicare.

Cartier-owner Richemont's ($CFR) record quarter fueled optimism for luxury's comeback.
Novo's rise since 2019 turned Denmark's pharma sector into its GDP growth engine—even outvaluing the country's economy at its peak.

Instagram Announces New Video Editing App
Perfect timing, Instagram? Just as TikTok and CapCut hit a glitch in the U.S., Meta ($META) rolled out Edits—a video-editing app that wants to compete with Adobe's Premiere Rush and ByteDance's CapCut. Instagram chief Adam Mosseri unveiled the tool (launching March 13), promising high-quality editing, analytics, and cross-platform sharing. Meta even snuck in App Store ads for Instagram when users searched "TikTok." The move follows the Supreme Court TikTok ban that lasted one day after the app was reinstated on Sunday.

Meta's sponsored ads for Instagram appeared briefly when users searched "TikTok" on iOS Sunday.
TikTok's 2024 ban drew rare bipartisan support over ByteDance's China ties—but CapCut and Lemon8 remain blocked.

Market Analysis For the Average Investor 🔎
#1
With 24% of U.S. oil from federal lands, reopening Alaska could benefit firms like ConocoPhillips or Chevron, while private land operators face less regulatory upside.
#2
Luxury's revival could signal stronger consumer spending in Europe/China, but monitor LVMH's upcoming earnings for confirmation.
#3
TikTok's Supreme Court ban underscores risks for apps with foreign ties (e.g., ByteDance). Investors may favor U.S.-domiciled tech giants like Meta.
